Coglobal has over ten years of experience promoting participation with children and adolescents in local decision making. Programs such as Ágora Infantil, Objetivo Sostenibilidad or Empaville have introduced hundreds of kids to experiences of participatory democracy and civic engagement with meaningful results. We are currently carrying out participatory processes in schools in the south and east of Spain, while we are preparing projects that will allow to transfer knowledge and replicate experiences in other regions and European countries.
We are currently seeking an experienced and proactive Project Manager to join Coglobal and help us develop our goals in the field of children and youth participation.
About the Role
As a project manager, you will supervise services and projects related to children and youth participation. These include but are not limited to:
- Ágora Infantil
- Objetivo Sostenibilidad
- Empaville
- Municipal plans for children and young people
- Local children and youth councils and other participatory forums
We expect you to carry out the following tasks, among others:
- Create and maintain project documentation, presentations, communication content, and materials.
- Track project progress, ensuring adherence to established schedules and deadlines.
- Respond to and address inquiries and requests from clients, funding partners and stakeholders.
- Supervision of the performance of temporary facilitators involved in the projects, ensuring capacity-building and guidance when needed.
- Take part in creating and writing project proposals.
- Contribute to Coglobal’s general strategy, especially in the line of work on children and youth participation.
The position offers remote work arrangements, with the option of co-working with other staff members in Malaga, Spain. While the position is initially offered as full-time, we are open to negotiating and adapting working hours based on individual needs. We welcome applications from candidates located anywhere in Spain who have easy and frequent access to Malaga.
Desired Experience and Skills
- At least 4 years of relevant work experience in project management for nonprofit organizations. Experience with EC funded projects is highly appreciated.
- Demonstrated experience related to educational and/or participatory activities with children and youth.
- Interest in deliberative and participatory democracy and alignment with Coglobal’s mission and values.
- Excellent writing and communication skills, including the ability to communicate complex information in clear, compelling and accessible ways that translate well across languages and contexts.
- Excellent teamwork skills and the ability and desire to collaborate with people from diverse cultures, being mindful of and sensitive about cultural differences and power dynamics.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong computer skills, especially with Google workspace products.
- Proficiency in Spanish and English.
- Proactivity and desire for further personal development in the field of children’s rights and participatory democracy.
- A flexible and growth-oriented mindset.
We understand that there are a wide variety of paths toward the skills necessary for the position. As such, there are no formal educational requirements, as long as the applicant can demonstrate proficiency in the desired skills. We do, however, value experience gained through educational programs.
Compensation and Benefits
The annual gross salary for this position is between 26,000 and 30,000 euros, depending on the candidate’s qualification and experience. A standard Spanish job contract will be offered, which includes public healthcare, retirement plans, and a minimum of 23 working days of paid vacation. This normally implies 1 full week in Easter, 3 full weeks in Summer and 2 full weeks in Christmas. Coglobal’s work calendar is adjusted to account for local bank holidays in Malaga.
